M.Ed. (University of Ottawa) RP C.C.C.

Senior Clinician, Director of Operations at Ottawa River Integrative Mental Health Inc.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, which regulates the practice of psychotherapy across the province.  I am also a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and received my M.Ed. in Educational Counselling from the University of Ottawa. I also hold a graduate diploma in Couple Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University in Ottawa. Under Dr. Sogge’s supervision as a registered clinical psychologist, I provide individual, couple, and group therapy services to the Ottawa community. Much of my practice involves supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and relationship issues. I have experience counselling university students as well as providing coaching to adults with ADHD, and therefore offer a unique perspective when working with these populations.

A great deal of our lives is spent trying to eliminate the issues with which we are struggling. This can be exhausting and often directs us away from the life that we want to live.  My intention as a therapist is to empower my clients find more effective and flexible ways of relating to their struggles so that they can reconnect with the kind of life they find most meaningful.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have received training from ACT creator Stephen Hayes, as well as ACT psychologists and researchers Drs. Jason Luoma, Robyn Walser, and John Forsyth, in order to specialize in this approach. I integrate other evidence-based approaches in my practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy, in order to meet the needs of my clients. I believe in empowering the individuals with whom I work to find solutions based on their internal resources. I use mindfulness to shift rigid patterns of thoughts, behaviours, and emotions and to help facilitate the desired changes in one’s experience.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or even if you are simply trying to decide if therapy is the next step for you.
