Group Leaders:

This 10 week CFT group is led by two registered psychologists, Dr. Paul Grunberg C.Psych. (s) (McGill University) and Dr. Kimberly Sogge C.Psych. (Texas A&M) who are colleagues at an Ottawa based practice emphasizing psychological interventions from the Third Wave of psychotherapy, particularly approaches grounded in compassion science and mindfulness practice.

Dr. Sogge is former faculty at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at the Texas A&M College of Medicine, former Chief of Psychology Professional Practice at the Royal, and has over 30 years of experience in the fields of mental health and psychotherapy. Dr. Sogge is a CFT supervisor with the Compassionate Mind Foundation in the UK.

Dr. Grunberg completed his PhD at McGill university, where he trained in third-wave CBT modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment and Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy. As a clinical psychologist, he works with youth and adults on a variety of issues, very often focusing on core issues of shame, criticism, and maladaptive coping strategies (e.g., self-harm) and the development of healthy relationships to self and others. Dr. Grunberg focuses on integrating psychoeducation and skills from compassion-focused therapy into most of his work.
