October 2020 ORPG Grand Rounds Webinar: Hello Body! Cultivating Interoceptive Awareness in Psychotherapy led by Dr. Kimberly Sogge, PhD., CPsych
Friday October 2nd at 1:00pm EST
No cost and open to all.
Embodiment and the felt experience of the body are a key element in the development and maintenance of patterns of psychological suffering, yet psychotherapists and clients are rarely given systematic training in the cultivation of interoceptive awareness for the purposes of disrupting unhelpful habitual patterns of thinking, experiencing and responding in the world. This webinar by a registered clinical psychologist who is also a dedicated mindfulness practitioner and IMTA certified professional mindfulness teacher recontextualizes the change process in psychotherapy to highlight how awareness of interoceptive cues in the body for both therapist and client can contribute to a stronger therapeutic alliance, more empowerment of the client, and more accurate targeting of energy and time in psychotherapy for the purposes of creating positive client change.
There is no pre-registration required. Please click on the Register Now button at 1pm on Oct 2 to be brought directly into the webinar.
