Ottawa River Psychology Group (formerly Sogge & Associates Practice in Psychology) received word on May 8, 2018 that Dr. Sogge had passed the rigourous training requirements to be certified as a mindfulness teacher by the International Mindfulness Teacher Association (IMTA). The IMTA and its advisory board of mindfulness luminaries including Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Phillip Moffitt, Bonnie Duran, and many other wise and experienced mindfulness teachers in North America, set training and professional standards for teaching mindfulness in North America. Many anticipate that IMTA will become the standard by which mindfulness teachers and training programs can be evaluated in the context of burgeoning interest in mindfulness practice around the world.
