I am excited to begin my counselling psychology practicum placement within the Ottawa River Psychology Group under the supervision of registered psychologist Dr. Kimberly Sogge C.Psych..

I am currently in my second year at the University of Ottawa in the M.Ed Counselling Psychology program at the University of Ottawa and plan to pursue doctoral studies and membership in the College of Psychologists of Ontario in the future. I have always been drawn to understanding the positive and empowering aspects of others, the world, and myself, and so from 2014-2016 I began my graduate studies (M.HK.) in Sport, Exercise, and Physical Activity Psychology at the University of Windsor. My research focused on resiliency and imagery use in young athletes and mirrors my belief in the resiliency of the human spirit. As such, many of the values that guide the practitioners at Ottawa River Psychology Group also guide my personal and professional life.

As I grew up, my family and I moved often and therein began my appreciation for the fluid nature of life – for the natural ups and downs that are fundamental to human existence and the lessons each may have to offer us toward continual change and growth. With this mindset, I have been following my own form of mindful-living that includes mental, physical, and spiritual elements for many years now and look forward to developing a formal clinical practice guided and informed by the expertise in Third Wave psychology approaches in the team at Ottawa River Psychology Group.

It is my belief that with holistic supports, there are few limits to what one can achieve through valued living. It is my intention and my goal to continually learn to work from a mindful and compassionate framework with both groups and individuals. My clinical work is founded on a strong working alliance and best evidence-based practices that lead to meaningful change.

There is strength in working together, as a team, and I look forward to the work that is to be done with the wonderful staff, clients, and individuals at the Ottawa River Psychology Group.
